Classroom Rules & Expectations

  • Be respectful to everyone - classmates, teachers, staff, the school, and most importantly, YOURSELF.

  • Arrive to class on time with all materials.

  • Do not log into the computers unless it is approved. No student should be on the computer during lecture or discussion time unless it is part of the activity.

  • NO profanity. You are expected to act as a professional at all times (after all, this is a business class). Conduct yourself as though you are doing business with a professional entity.

  • NO electronic devices are to be used during class unless they are involved in the activity being taught or performed. Any devices seen at an unapproved time will be confiscated and taken to the office. If the student refuses to surrender the device, he/she will be asked to leave the classroom and go to the office and the parent/guardian will be notified.

  • Do not print out any materials that are not to be submitted for a grade. Please ask for permission before printing something for another class.

  • NO open beverages near the computers. Water or drinks must be in a bottle with a cap.

  • NO eating near the computers.

  • Before leaving, make sure your work space is clean and ready for the next person to use. Be sure to log out of the computer to protect your data.

Tardy Policy

A professional in the business world is expected to be at work and ready for the day at a designated time. As this is a business class, we will model professionalism in preparation for the world of work after high school. Therefore, all students should be in class and working on the warm-up assignment when the tardy bell rings. Any student who comes into class late must have either a note from another teacher or staff member or must present a tardy pass.

Multiple tardies will result in detention, ISS, or other disciplinary actions.

If you are more than 15 minutes late to class, you will be marked absent.

Consequences

  • First Offense:            Verbal warning & reminder of rules

  • Second Offense:      Student-teacher conference after class & sign conduct agreement

  • Third Offense:          Parent/Guardian notified, detention issued

  • Fourth Offense:       Removal from classroom to office, parent/guardian notified

  • Severe disruption:  Immediate removal from classroom to office
